One of the fondest memories of my Granddad Nelson was trading quotes regularly over email. Sadly I lost the email archive when I went on my mission, but it has continued to be an interest of mine. I hope you enjoy my collection of quotes. A bit of everything from religion to politics to leadership.

When a group of tourists visited a crocodile farm, the owner of the place launched a daring proposal;
"Whoever dares to jump, swim to shore and survive, I will give 1 million dollars."
Nobody dared to move, suddenly a man jumped into the water and desperately swam towards the shore while he was chased by all the crocodiles.
With great luck he arrived, taking the admiration of everyone in the place, then the owner announced;
"We have a brave winner."
After collecting their reward, the couple returned to the hotel, upon arrival, the manager told him; he was very brave to jump, then the man said;
"didn't jump, someone pushed me!"
His wife smiled.
Moral: Behind every successful man, there is a woman who pushes him.

Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers.

I don't chase after people anymore. If they like spending time with me, they will do so. If not, I'm content in my own company.

Nothing on your phone or on television is more important than your wife's well-being.

Just because I disagree with you, does not mean that I hate you. We need to relearn that in our society.

I used to think I could fix anything in my life if I just tried a little harder or gave it more time. But, some things aren't meant to be fixed. Sometimes, all you can do is make peace with it and move forward, knowing you did the best you could.

We appear to be living in an era in which many are speaking without thinking, encouraging emotional reactions rather than thoughtful responses.

Whenever I see someone with an abundance of empathy I want to ask what heartbreak they have endured, for compassion is often birthed in the valley of despair.

If you go to the southwest desert and catch 100 red fire ants as well as 100 large black ants and put them in a jar, at first, nothing will happen.
However, if you violently shake the jar and dump them back on the ground the ants will fight until they eventually kill each other.
The thing is, the red ants think the black ants are the enemy and vice versa, when in reality, the real enemy is the person who shook the jar.
This is exactly what's happening in society today:
Liberal vs Conservative
Black vs White
Pro Mask vs Anti Mask
The real question we need to be asking ourselves is who's shaking the jar and why?

At some point you just have to let go of what you thought should happen and live in what is happening.
