Quotes

One of the fondest memories of my Granddad Nelson was trading quotes regularly over email. Sadly I lost the email archive when I went on my mission, but it has continued to be an interest of mine. I hope you enjoy my collection of quotes. A bit of everything from religion to politics to leadership.

You know folks, I never cared that you were gay, until you started shoving it down my throat, and I never cared what color you were, till you started blaming me for your problems, and I never cared about your political affiliation, until you started condemning me for mine. I really never even cared where you were born, until you wanted to erase my history, and blame my ancestors for your problems you know I never even cared if your beliefs were different than mine, until you said my beliefs were wrong, but now I care, my patience and tolerence are gone, and I am not alone in feeling like this, there are millions of us who feel like this.

Colorblindness really should mean, at its deepest level, is that we try our very best to treat people without regard to race, both in our personal lives and in our public policy.

The commandments have not changed. Let there be no mistake about that. Right is still right. Wrong is still wrong, no matter how cleverly cloaked in respectability or political correctness.

Just because I disagree with you, does not mean that I hate you. We need to relearn that in our society.

Six Ways to Disagree

  1. Express feelings with love.
  2. Don't think you know best.
  3. Don't compete.
  4. Don't rigorously defend your position.
  5. Let the Spirit guide your conversations.
  6. Be filled with charity, the pure love of Christ.
